Country, Blues, Westernswing, Ragtime, Rockabilly & Rock’n Roll from the SALTY DOGZ The new Formation SALTY DOGZ is on the road since February 1999 and these three sympathetic musicians have a lot of experience. Robert Shumy & F. G. Hacker were playing many concerts as members of the SALTY DOGS with giants of Country-, Blues- and Rock’n Roll like Chuck Berry, Little Richard, Carl Perkins, Wanda Jackson, Rose Maddox, Luther Allison, John Mayall and many support acts with other international artists. They toured across Europe and got standing ovations from the audience in the south of the U.S.A. Robert Shumy: Robert "The Voice" Shumy from Vienna is popular for his extraordinary voice, which makes you Goosebumps when he starts to sing the Song "Can’t help fallin‘ in love". He’s playing professionally authentic acoustic guitar in the style of Chet Atkins, Merle Travis, Hank Williams and many more. The audience loves him, when he’s playin’ the old stuff of squeeze box too. He is a self-taught person and he was the founder of the SALTY DOGS. In summer 1997 he recorded his first solo-CD entitled "It’s Pickin’ Time!". Of course he is guest on many productions of Austrian Country-, Rock’n Roll- and Blues-musicians. F.G.Hacker: The greatest love in his life is the guitar, influenced equally by giants like Doc Watson, Django Reinhardt, Chet Atkins, Merle Travis etc....., he is playin’ the drums very well too. F.G. was also a student on a music high school. He loves the Rock’n Roll, the Blues, the Swing and of course the guitar pickin’ of Country-Music. His own style and the fun to make music is an unforgettable experience for all the lovers of jazz-guitar playing. In this style of music, he is one of the best guitarists in our country. Peter Strutzenberger: This beloved artist was accompany with many great bands like Johnny & the Creditcards, Torpedos, Nugget, Route 66, Five in love with Betty, Christian Dozzler & the Blueswave etc. Peter was also on stage and recorded with many popular musicians like Sandra Pires, Ostbahn Kurti, Andy Lee Lang, Jazz Gitti, Dana Gillespie, Ulli Baer, Lousiana Red, Hank Thompson and many more. He learned to play flute, violin and guitar on the Franz Schubert Conservatoire and the high school/university of music and representable arts Vienna. He makes music in the Austrian TV production "Tohuwabohu" and at the Vienna opera house in "The Merry Widow". The SALTY DOGZ are playing Country, Blues, Western-Swing, Ragtime, Rockabilly & Rock’n Roll in the style from the 20ies until the 50ies. They are playing the same instruments like the first band of Elvis Presley: one jazz guitar, one acoustic guitar and a slappin’ bullfiddle. That’s the reason why they got the authentic sound. This is the highest quality of old-time Country-Music and Rock’n Roll here in whole Austria. Since 1991 the SALTY DOGS released 6 CD’s, you have to compare with international artists. The new Band SALTY DOGZ will make their next productions with the same enthusiasm.
